Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a contract Software Engineer with an active security clearance for an opportunity in Palmdale, CA. The role will focus on embedded software development for vehicle management platforms and future aircraft, within an Agile development team.

The position involves requirements generation, design, implementation, integration, and flight test, with emphasis on embedded systems and diverse hardware/simulation environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of C experience; 7+ years embedded C++ acceptable.
• 5+ years Linux experience.
• 5+ years embedded software development experience.
• 3+ years with Git and Agile toolchains (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, GitLab).
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.
• 2-3 years Python.
• RTOS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development software for vehicle management across current platforms and future aircraft.
• Cover requirements generation, system and software design, implementation, and integration and flight tests.
• Focus on embedded software development lifecycle within an Agile team.
• Collaborate on avionics services, ground station and mission systems software environments.
• Work with host systems, simulators, and laboratory environments including constructive simulations.
