The Manager, Contract Development West for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for driving significant impact to the organization by utilizing your expertise in risk management, negotiation, and operational management while maintaining high standards of performance and leading a highly engaged team.

This position is part of the Client Services Organization located in Brea, CA and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Contract Development Team and report to the Director, NACO Contract Development responsible for ensuring cohesive, integrated approaches across Contract Development and partnering with Sales, including various Area Directors and Area Vice Presidents. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Draft compliant, complex contracts that support Sales in winning business.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure team success, adherence to SLAs, and efficient resource allocation, including training new team members.
  • Identify potential risks, escalate issues as needed, and draft supportive term language for business decisions.
  • Set and pursue annual project goals while maintaining high standards of work.
  • Collaborate with other Area Managers and build strong relationships with Contract Administration and Sales teams.
  • Maintain open communication by participating in calls, hosting office hours, and ensuring clear communication channels.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to provide constructive feedback, support associate development, and ensure consistent work standards/best practices.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years' experience OR Master's degree with 7+ years' experience of contract and negotiating, sales operations, and/or finance experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a People Leader / Management role (responsible for driving team objectives or revenue impacting position)
  • 4+ years of experience partnering with Sales and Negotiation (driving business outcomes)
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and redlining terms and conditions in a contract within a proposal environment
  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential financial risk in alignment with company strategy

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in the healthcare or diagnostics industry
  • Leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience with various teams (sales / finance)

The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $145,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
