Job summary

Yoh is seeking a Business/Intelligence (BI)/Data Analyst for a 12-month contract in San Diego, CA. You will report to onsite client teams and translate business questions into SQL-driven insights and Power BI dashboards for stakeholders.

You'll model data, write advanced SQL in Databricks, develop KPI frameworks, and collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure data quality and actionable reporting across the organization.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience using SQL to analyze data, build business logic, define KPIs, and develop Power BI reporting solutions for business stakeholders.
• Foundational experience with data analysis and programming (e.g., Python or similar).
• Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, particularly Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Write advanced SQL within Databricks to apply complex business rules, transform raw data, and build structured datasets optimized for reporting
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to track KPIs and support data-driven decision‑making
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, define and maintain KPI calculations and reporting standards, summarize key findings concisely, and present actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Partner with cross‑functional business teams to gather and document requirements, define business metrics, and translate business questions into analytical and reporting solutions
• Proactively monitor data quality, perform validation and reconciliation of reporting outputs, clearly document anomalies or discrepancies, and collaborate with the Data Engineering team to troubleshoot pipeline or data issues

• $45.63/hr. max hourly rate
• 1-3 years of experience using SQL to analyze data, build business logic, define KPIs, and develop Power BI reporting solutions for business stakeholders.
• Must be able to independently translate complex business questions into SQL-driven insights, KPI frameworks, and executive-ready Power BI dashboards.

What You Will Be Doing

• Business Logic & Data Modeling: Write advanced SQL within Databricks to apply complex business rules, transform raw data, and build structured datasets optimized for reporting
• Visualization & Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to track KPIs and support data-driven decision-making.
• Insight Generation: Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, define and maintain KPI calculations and reporting standards, summarize key findings concisely, and present actionable insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional business teams to gather and document requirements, define business metrics, and translate business questions into analytical and reporting solutions.
• Issue Resolution & Engineering Liaison: Proactively monitor data quality, perform validation and reconciliation of reporting outputs, clearly document anomalies or discrepancies, and collaborate with the Data Engineering team to troubleshoot pipeline or data issues.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of experience using SQL to analyze data, build business logic, define KPIs, and develop Power BI reporting solutions for business stakeholders.
• Foundational experience with data analysis and programming (e.g., Python or similar).
• Hands-on experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, particularly Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate results, communicate findings clearly, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical engineering teams.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience working within Databricks or similar cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts, data models, and ETL/ELT processes, with the ability to trace data lineage and communicate effectively with data engineers.
• Experience supporting marketing, CRM, ecommerce, customer analytics, or digital analytics initiatives is a plus. Familiarity with customer data platforms, audience segmentation, campaign measurement, and tools such as GA4, ActionIQ, Qualtrics, or similar platforms is preferred.
