Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented mid-level copywriter to join our brand and creative marketing team at Chegg. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting compelling copy that resonates with our target audience across various channels including paid marketing, CRM/email, campaigns, and in-house creative projects. This individual will play a crucial role in driving engagement, conversion, and brand loyalty through their innovative and impactful writing. You should be obsessed with grammar and have an opinion on the Oxford comma. You’re that person who watches the Superbowl for the ads. And most importantly, you are inspired by smart brand campaigns and get excited by clever copy. We are looking for a super-conceptual thinker who can bring fresh ideas to our campaigns and steady-state marketing copywriting. Ad agency experience would be preferred!

Responsibilities:

Paid Marketing:

  1. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and copy for digital advertising campaigns across various platforms including Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and more.
  2. Write compelling ad copy, headlines, and CTAs that drive clicks, conversions, and ROI.

CRM/Email:

  1. Create engaging and personalized email content for customer acquisition, retention, and re-engagement campaigns.
  2. Develop email subject lines, body copy, and CTAs that drive opens, clicks, and conversions.
  3. Utilize segmentation and personalization strategies to deliver targeted messaging to different customer segments.

Campaigns:

  1. Work closely with the marketing team to develop integrated marketing campaigns that align with Chegg’s brand voice and objectives.
  2. Bring the big ideas that tap into students’ pain points and feel relatable.
  3. Conceptualize and execute campaign messaging across multiple channels including social media, website, email, and more.
  4. Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all campaign touchpoints.

In-House Creative Requests:

  1. Support various internal teams (e.g., product, design, content) with copywriting needs for projects such as landing pages, product descriptions, social media posts, and promotional materials.
  2. Adapt writing style and tone to fit the specific requirements of each project and target audience.
  3. Collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field.
  2. 4+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably in a marketing or advertising agency.
  3. Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of audience psychology.
  4. Proven track record of creating compelling copy for paid marketing campaigns, CRM/email campaigns, and integrated marketing campaigns.
  5. Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
  6. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and feedback to cross-functional teams.
