Job summary

hireCNC is seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Machinist II for a contract assignment near Woburn, Massachusetts. You will set up and run CNC Swiss machines, holding tight tolerances on a range of metals and taking ownership of quality at the machine.

The role is a 3-month contract with potential extension, on the 2nd shift (4 PM start) and seven days a week availability is noted with per diem compensation. Pay is $40/hour plus $175/day per diem, with a focus on meeting productivity targets and

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience, including CNC Swiss.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Operate, set up, and maintain a CNC Swiss machine, and to run multiple machines.
• Follow work instructions and read technical drawings.
• Solid math and measuring skills.
• A proven record of quality, on-time production runs and a commitment to safety.
• Able to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC Swiss machines within tolerance, following work instructions, machine programs, and engineering drawings.
• Machine a variety of parts and metals where very close tolerances must be held.
• Change dull tooling and make minor offset adjustments for tool wear.
• Inspect your own work with a range of measuring equipment and interpret the readings.
• Run multiple machines and meet productivity targets.
• Perform routine machine maintenance from the daily checklist and hand finishing.
• Complete job routers and records in line with good manufacturing and documentation practices.
• Identify problems and elevate them to the team leader or supervisor.
