LOGS Legal Group LLP seeks licensed attorneys as Independent Contractors to support its creditors' rights practice across North Carolina, Tennessee, and other states. The role offers 30–40 hours per week with flexible scheduling and remote work options.

Candidates must be admitted to at least one covered state, have experience in foreclosure and collections, and be capable of managing cases independently in a remote setup. Compensation is per-case or hourly with hybrid/remote expectations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Appear at hearings, mediations, conferences, trials, in person or remotely.
• Ensure compliance with laws, investor guidelines, and client standards.
• Review strategy and assess risks to facilitate timely resolutions.
• Communicate status and recommendations to teams and clients.

Job description

LOGS Legal Group LLP is seeking licensed attorneys to provide legal services as Independent Contractors supporting our non-judicial foreclosure and creditors' rights practice in North Carolina and Tennessee.

This is a part-time to near-full-time contract role, offering 30–40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. We are hiring across several states and welcome applicants who are licensed in one or more of the jurisdictions listed below.

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely with an established multi-state creditors' rights law firm while maintaining independent contractor status.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of creditors' rights matters, including foreclosure, collections, bankruptcy, title, eviction, and related default servicing activities, from referral through resolution.
• Draft, review, and approve pleadings, motions, affidavits, notices, correspondence, and other legal documents in accordance with applicable state laws, court rules, and client requirements.
• Provide legal oversight and guidance on foreclosure proceedings, collections litigation, and related creditors' rights matters.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, conferences, trials, and other court proceedings as required, either in person or remotely, depending on jurisdiction.
• Ensure all case activity complies with applicable federal and state laws, regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and client servicing standards.
• Review legal strategy and assess case risks, escalations, and exceptions to facilitate timely resolution of matters.
• Communicate case status, legal analysis, and recommendations to internal operations teams, firm leadership, and clients.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the firm's case management systems.
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to legal workflow, compliance, and client service delivery.

Qualifications

• Active law license in good standing in at least one of the covered states, New York, Pennsylvania, and/or Ohio (multi-state admission strongly preferred).
• Experience in foreclosure, creditors' rights, litigation, mortgage default servicing, collections or related practice areas preferred.
• Strong written communication and case management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a remote environment.
• Multi-state licensure is a plus.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Prior experience in creditors' rights, consumer debt collections, or civil litigation preferred; new admittees with strong litigation training will be considered.
• Working knowledge of the FDCPA, and relevant state consumer protection and collections statutes.
• Comfort with high-volume caseloads and court e-filing systems.
• Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.

Additional Information

• Independent contractor engagement (1099); this is not a salaried, benefits-eligible position.
• Expected availability of approximately 30-40 hours per week, with scheduling flexibility around court calendars.
• Hybrid/Remote: case preparation and client communication may be performed remotely; court appearances are conducted in the attorney's covered jurisdiction(s).
• Required equipment and system access will be provided by the Firm.
• Compensation structured as a per-case, per-hearing, or hourly rate depending on jurisdiction and caseload; details discussed during the interview process.
