Job summary

The Structures Company, a national aerospace and defense staffing agency, is seeking a Project Engineer to support development, testing, and qualification of electro-mechanical actuation systems for defense and electric aircraft programs.

You will blend engineering execution with project coordination, manage schedules and technical deliverables, and coordinate across mechanical, electrical, and aerospace teams while communicating with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development, testing, or qualification.
• Experience with mechanical design and/or electronics and circuit card design.
• Root cause and corrective action experience for technical issues.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Project, integrated master schedules (IMS), and project coordination activities.
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems for aerospace or defense applications.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or manufacturing is a plus.
• Aerospace or defense industry experience is a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills for team collaboration and stakeholder interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Supports development, testing, and qualification of electro-mechanical actuation systems for defense and more electric aircraft applications.
• Combines engineering execution with project coordination responsibilities for product development programs.
• Supports project execution, schedules, milestones, and technical deliverables for engineering projects.
• Coordinates development activities across engineering teams including mechanical, electrical, and aerospace disciplines.
• Performs technical problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for design and testing issues.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
• Analyzes test results and supports validation and verification activities for electro-mechanical systems.
• Interfaces with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders for project coordination and technical communication.
• Assists with risk management, metrics reporting, and project tracking using tools such as Microsoft Project and IMS.
• Supports design validation through build and test activities for mechanical and electronics hardware.
