Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a contract and sourcing professional to lead and support procurement activities for medical/surgical products, equipment, and services. This hybrid role collaborates with end-users, GPOs, and Contracts Management to drive compliant sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.

The position emphasizes vendor relationship management, contract oversight, and strategic bidding processes, with a focus on adherence to policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Education requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience requirements: 4 years of administrative experience with High School diploma or equivalent, or 2 years with Associate's degree, or no experience required with Bachelor's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the sourcing and contracting of medical/surgical products, equipment and services with end-users, GPOs, and Contracts Management.
  • Responsible for ongoing vendor relationship and contract management.
  • Coordinates with end-users in preparation of RFX and provides direction on sourcing approaches based on contract hierarchy and regulations.
  • Implements a Value Based selection process positioning the Office of Purchasing as a trusted advisor.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure terms align with UT Southwestern policies and procedures.
  • Monitors contractors for HUB and insurance compliance.
  • Provides effective record keeping for contract documents.
  • Compiles information and responds to audit requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Works under minimal direction to collaborate with end-users, Group Purchasing Organizations, and Contract Management for the sourcing of good and services. This position will lead and support sourcing and contracting activities in assigned categories.

This is a hybrid position with two days in office and remaining remote.

JOB DUTIES
  • Facilitates the sourcing and contracting of medical/surgical products, equipment and services for UT Southwestern in collaboration with end-users, Group Purchasing Organizations, and Contracts Management in alliance with contract compliance and expense reduction initiatives.
  • Responsible for ongoing vendor relationship and contract management.
  • Coordinates with end-users in preparation of RFX and provides direction on recommended sourcing approaches based on Contract hierarchy and federal and state regulations.
  • Implement a Value Based selection process and positions the Office of Purchasing as a trusted advisor.
  • Review transactional data to identify opportunities resulting from improved pricing and verify expected outcomes after implementation.
  • Coordinates contracts review and execution and tracks processes to fulfillment.
  • Reviews contracts to ensure that terms are in accordance with UT Southwestern policies and procedures.
  • Monitors contractors for HUB and insurance compliance in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Provides effective record keeping ensuring that all contract documents are readily assessable.
  • Compile information and respond to internal and external audit requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
