Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. in Groton, CT, seeks a customer‑driven professional to serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, handling contracts, quotes, PO processing, and order management through shipment.

You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Shipping and Sales to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery, while maintaining data integrity and supporting export controls.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP, contract management, or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with export compliance requirements (ITAR experience preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned customer accounts and administer contracts from order receipt through shipment and delivery.
  • Process purchase orders, quotations, order modifications, releases, transfers, and related transactions within company systems.
  • Review and respond to customer inquiries, correspondence, complaints, and order-related communications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Serve as the liaison between customers and internal teams including Operations, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Shipping, and Sales.
  • Communicate order status, delivery schedules, specifications, quality concerns, and other critical information to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, contracts, files, reports, and databases using company systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support export compliance activities, including ITAR documentation, end-user statements, and coordination with Facility Compliance Officers (FCOs).
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across enterprise systems and customer records.
  • Assist with customer visits, meetings, and coordination of technical reviews or discussions.
  • Monitor customer requirements and proactively identify issues, risks, or opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop an understanding of manufacturing processes, customer specifications, and production requirements to support effective customer service and contract execution.
  • Provide general administrative support and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Under general supervision, serves as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, providing customer support, contract administration, and sales order management. Responsible for processing purchase orders, quotations, contract reviews, customer communications, data management, export compliance documentation, and coordination between customers and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate execution of customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage assigned customer accounts and administer contracts from order receipt through shipment and delivery.
  • Process purchase orders, quotations, order modifications, releases, transfers, and related transactions within company systems.
  • Review and respond to customer inquiries, correspondence, complaints, and order-related communications in a timely and professional manner.

Complete required training and development to become qualified to serve as an Assistant Facility Compliance Officer (AFCO) and support ongoing trade compliance requirements.

  • Monitor customer requirements and proactively identify issues, risks, or opportunities for process improvements.

  • Provide general administrative support and perform additional duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and providing recommendations to help make PCC a safe work environment.
  • Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.
  • Perform all physical functions of position, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sales, or related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience with ERP, contract management, or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Ability to understand customer specifications, technical documentation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with export compliance requirements (ITAR experience preferred).
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across functional teams.
  • Must be eligible to work with export-controlled information in accordance with U.S. regulations.
