Rilla, a fast-growing NYC-based sales coaching software company, is hiring a Contract Accountant to join the Finance team. You will own core accounting processes, drive the monthly close, and build the internal controls and reporting framework we need to scale.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you’ll manage journal entries, revenue recognition under GAAP, AP, accruals, fixed assets, and assist with audits and management reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, ideally with SaaS clients.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite.
• Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
• CPA certification and a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close — journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including subscription and multi-period arrangements
• Oversee AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
• Assist with financial statements and internal management reports
• Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
• Drive finance system implementations and workflow automation
• Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with operations, finance, and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses
• Support benefits administration as the team grows
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and help us scale
