Job summary

Ursus in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Accountant 1 for an 8-month assignment. You will perform account reconciliations, financial analysis, and support for external audit readiness using Excel and reporting tools.

The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of GAAP, strong Excel skills, and the ability to prepare timely financial schedules and variance explanations. Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting is required; SAP/ERP experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or related field.
• Fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performs account reconciliations and associated financial analysis.
• Prepares journal entries with minimal supervision and ensures GAAP compliance.
• Develops reports and variance explanations using Excel and other tools.
• Supports external audit by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Collaborates with team to update procedures and improve processes.
