Job summary

Family Treatment Services in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Continuum Substance Abuse Counselor to provide direct counseling across the continuum of care, develop treatment plans, and support positive outcomes for residents.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field or CSAC, and ideally at least two years in a residential setting; a valid Hawaii driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are required. Schedule is flexible: days and evenings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline and/or CSAC required.
• Preference for a minimum of two years’ experience in a residential substance use treatment facility.
• Personal vehicle and a valid Hawaii State driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop clinically appropriate treatment plans with assigned clients and revise as scheduled.
• Provide individual substance abuse counseling, group therapy, family counseling, and case management services as assigned.
• Provide classes and psycho-educational groups related to addiction, relapse prevention, family issues, women’s issues and/or other appropriate topics.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records for each assigned resident, noting significant problems and progress (using the required electronic health record system).
• Prepare written reports and correspondence related to case management in a professional and timely manner.
• Provide ongoing written or verbal communication to other program staff or referral agencies related to client needs or concerns to assure coordination of services.
