As a Continuous Process Improvement & Planning Manager - Sales Compensation, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence across the incentive compensation lifecycle from both a planning and process perspective. This role is responsible for leading the annual Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) incentive compensation planning cycle and driving transformation through continuous improvement across the end-to-end compensation process. You will work across a complex matrix of stakeholders to identify and implement process/planning improvements, and ensure scalable, data-driven solutions that enhance accuracy, agility and seller experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong prior experience in program management as well as a strong background in continuous process improvement. You will have leadership skills, a solid track record of managing a broad set of stakeholders and complex cross-organizational dependencies, while continuously and relentlessly driving for results. You’ll have a deep understanding of what it takes to transform and simplify processes, with and through others, in a highly matrixed environment at Microsoft. You will also need to be highly skilled in understanding how to get things done through influence and collaboration, while working with cross-functional and multi-country team members.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field AND 7+ years experience in compensation, business management and operations, finance and analytics, human resources and people analytics, marketing, or sales strategy
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience working in a large or highly matrixed organization, preferably in the technology industry.

  • 3+ years project or program leadership/management experience.

  • 3+ Years of experience leveraging Continuous Process Improvement Methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.

Sales Compensation IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.

Responsibilities

Annual Planning Leadership

  • Lead the incentive compensation planning cycle as part of the overall MCAPS planning framework, coordinating across Sales, Finance, HR, and Engineering stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment of milestones related to designing and implementing future fiscal year incentive compensation strategy – including compensation metrics, plan design inputs, and delivery timelines.
  • Work across teams in WWIC to identify key workstreams and dependencies related to the annual planning cycle and for fiscal year rollover (FYRO)

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify and implement process improvements across the incentive compensation lifecycle using Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive simplification, automation, and standardization to improve accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. Identify where AI could help with automation and remove manual processes.
  • Analyze compensation processes and operational performance to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Maintain an always-on prioritized list of processes and systems to review and transform via curious mindset and autonomy.
  • Lead change management efforts including stakeholder engagement, training, and communication.
