Job summary

Jensen Infrastructure seeks a Training Manager for the Jensen Operating System (JOS) to develop and implement a company-wide training system that supports JOS across Jensen Infrastructure. You will serve as a Lean expert, instructor, coach, and facilitator, translating Lean principles into practical methods for employees at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant hands-on manufacturing and continuous improvement experience implementing Lean principles and standardized Lean systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience delivering Lean training to audiences from front-line employees to executives; facilitating multi-day Kaizen events and coaching leaders.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools and practices (5S, Standard Work, Gemba, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Heijunka, Kanban, visual and daily management, flow, takt time, waste elimination).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred, Black Belt strongly preferred; Train-the-Trainer certification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the JOS training curriculum across Jensen Infrastructure.
  • Delivering role-appropriate training from Lean fundamentals to advanced problem-solving while evaluating effectiveness and adjusting the curriculum.
  • Building and maintaining a Lean skills matrix, defining competency standards by role and level; partnering with HR to track training, gaps, and recertification.
  • Coaching Lean champions, process owners, supervisors, managers, and plant leaders; mentoring teams through Lean and Six Sigma projects and Kaizen events.
  • Partnering with Operations, Plant Leadership, and HR to create development pathways supporting career advancement and succession planning.
  • Supporting plant and corporate CI initiatives through shop-floor engagement, KPI/visual management, audits, Kaizen follow-up, and sustaining improvements.

Jensen Operating System (JOS) Training Manager
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Jensen Operating System (JOS) Training Manager develops, implements, and continuously improves the training system that supports JOS across Jensen Infrastructure. Serving as a Lean subject matter expert, instructor, coach, and facilitator, this role translates Lean principles into practical, standardized methods for employees at every level - from front-line production teams through executive leadership.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…
  • Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company-wide JOS training curriculum, including standardized presentations, exercises, demonstrations, job aids, and visual training materials.
  • Delivering role-appropriate training from Lean fundamentals through advanced problem-solving and continuous improvement methods, while evaluating effectiveness and adjusting the curriculum as needs evolve.
  • Building and maintaining a company-wide Lean skills matrix, defining competency and qualification standards by role and level, and partnering with Human Resources to track training, gaps, follow-up, and recertification requirements.
  • Coaching Lean champions, process owners, supervisors, managers, and plant leaders, while mentoring individuals and teams through Lean and Six Sigma projects and multi-day Kaizen events.
  • Partnering with Operations, Plant Leadership, and Human Resources to create progressive development pathways that support career advancement, succession planning, and the growth of high-potential employees.
  • Supporting plant and corporate continuous improvement initiatives through shop-floor engagement, KPI and visual-management practices, assessments, audits, Kaizen follow-up, and systems that sustain implemented improvements.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant hands-on manufacturing and continuous improvement experience, including demonstrated success implementing Lean principals and standardized Lean systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering Lean training for audiences ranging from front-line employees to executives, facilitating multi-day Kaizen events, and coaching and mentoring employees and leaders.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean tools and practices, including 5S, Standard Work, Gemba, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Heijunka, Kanban, visual and daily management, flow, takt time, and waste elimination.
  • Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, structured problem-solving, and root-cause analysis; Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred, with Black Belt strongly preferred, and Train-the-Trainer certification or experience is also preferred.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, adapt communication across all organizational levels, and travel regularly to Jensen manufacturing facilities.
