Job summary

The Jensen Operating System (JOS) Training Manager leads the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of the company-wide JOS training program across Jensen Infrastructure. This role translates Lean principles into practical, standardized methods for employees at every level—from front-line teams to executives.

You will deliver Lean training, build a Lean skills matrix, coach champions, and partner with Operations and HR to create career development pathways and recertification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on manufacturing and continuous improvement experience implementing Lean principles in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience developing and delivering Lean training for audiences from front-line employees to executives; coaching Kaizen events.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the JOS training curriculum, including standardized presentations, exercises, demonstrations, job aids, and visual training materials.
• Deliver role-appropriate training from Lean fundamentals through advanced problem-solving and continuous improvement methods, while evaluating effectiveness and adjusting the curriculum as needs evolve.
• Build and maintain a company-wide Lean skills matrix, defining competency and qualification standards by role and level, and partner with HR to track training, gaps, follow-up, and recertification requirements.
• Coach Lean champions, process owners, supervisors, managers, and plant leaders, mentoring individuals and teams through Lean and Six Sigma projects and multi-day Kaizen events.
• Partner with Operations, Plant Leadership, and HR to create progressive development pathways that support career advancement and succession planning.
• Support plant and corporate continuous improvement initiatives through shop-floor engagement, KPI and visual-management practices, assessments, audits, Kaizen follow-up, and sustaining implemented improvements.

Serving as a Lean subject matter expert, instructor, coach, and facilitator, this role translates Lean principles into practical, standardized methods for employees at every level - from front-line production teams through executive leadership.YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…Developing, implementing, and continuously improving the company-wide JOS training curriculum, including standardized presentations, exercises, demonstrations, job aids, and visual training materials.Delivering role-appropriate training from Lean fundamentals through advanced problem-solving and continuous improvement methods, while evaluating effectiveness and adjusting the curriculum as needs evolve.Building and maintaining a company-wide Lean skills matrix, defining competency and qualification standards by role and level, and partnering with Human Resources to track training, gaps, follow-up, and recertification requirements.Coaching Lean champions, process owners, supervisors, managers, and plant leaders, while mentoring individuals and teams through Lean and Six Sigma projects and multi-day Kaizen events.Partnering with Operations, Plant Leadership, and Human Resources to create progressive development pathways that support career advancement, succession planning, and the growth of high-potential employees.Supporting plant and corporate continuous improvement initiatives through shop-floor engagement, KPI and visual-management practices, assessments, audits, Kaizen follow-up, and systems that sustain implemented improvements.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Significant hands-on manufacturing and continuous improvement experience, including demonstrated success implementing Lean principles and standardized Lean systems in a manufacturing environment.Demonstrated experience developing and delivering Lean training for audiences ranging from front-line employees to executives, facilitating multi-day Kaizen events, and coaching and mentoring employees and leaders.Strong working knowledge of Lean tools and practices, including 5S, Standard Work, Gemba, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Heijunka, Kanban, visual and daily management, flow, takt time, and waste elimination.Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, structured problem-solving, and root-cause analysis; Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred, with Black Belt strongly preferred, and Train-the-Trainer certification or experience is also preferred.Excellent presentation, facilitation, interpersonal, communication, influencing, and organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, adapt communication across all organizational levels, and travel regularly to Jensen manufacturing facilities.ALL ABOUT JENSEN INFRASTRUCTURELike you, our founder, Don Jensen was looking for a way to support his family, so he started his company in 1968.
