Continuous Improvement Engineer – Tulsa, OK

Degree with continuous improvement experience at an industrial manufacturer required. Onsite work schedule with half day Fridays.

Work schedule at the location is 7:30 am - 5:30 pm M-Th and half day on Friday

Job Description

Serves as a resource to an organization to facilitate problem solving, assists all levels of employees and management in identifying waste and improvement opportunities, instructs on appropriate process improvement methods, and leads effective implementation and use of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methods. by performing the following duties.

What you will be responsible for:
  • Assures that all practices are utilized to drive results and that projects are completed on time
  • Ensures that standard operating procedures exist to meet both the short- and long-term needs of the business and shares best practices with affected work groups.
  • Leads audit processes, addresses nonconformities from audits, and uses data to drive decisions to help specific departments or the organization become more proactive in process control and reaction and in identifying and communicating quality or process issues.
  • Implements and audits lean manufacturing process, including but not limited to kaizens, 5S, etc.
  • Conducts training and assessments as directed.
  • Provides support to production departments utilizing various continuous improvement tools.
  • Performs regular assessments to ensure the correct application of methods, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary to ensure improved products or services.
  • Contributes to identification of new metrics for judging efficiency and productivity.
  • Aids in the development of materials, tools, and presentations in support of continuous improvement issues.
  • Works with departments to improve the overall safety record of the plant, ensures all departments have identified continuous improvement projects, and ensures projects are progressing within projected timelines.
  • Work with plant and/or department management to simplify and combine processes.
  • Document current and ideal practices and use post-completion audits to assure compliance of improvements.
  • Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, ability to work on site.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Assembly department.

Ability to supervise 1-4 exempt employees.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion Inc., Thermal Solution's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Directing employees' work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Personal computer skills include electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
