Job summary

Perrigo Company plc is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Michigan to provide technical support for incident and deviation investigations across Perrigo facilities. The role emphasizes identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
  • Knowledge of principles in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and cGMP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work with staff at all levels.
  • Experience with investigations and developing/improving processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with operator focused reliability programs (ODR, TPM, autonomous maintenance) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word); SAP experience preferred.

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure ODR routines strengthen equipment reliability.

Description Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer provides technical support as it relates to incident/deviation investigations for all commercialized products at Perrigo facilities within Michigan.

Scope of the Role
  • Provide technical expertise and support to identify root causes of incidents and deviations
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence of incidents and deviations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate investigations and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement in manufacturing processes Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance continuousimprovement efforts.
  • Support ODR activities by helping define base equipment conditions, inspection points, and lubrication standards.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to identify and eliminate sources of contamination and hard to access areas.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure ODR routines strengthen equipment reliability and align with continuous improvement objectives.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts and practices in pharmaceutical sciences and manufacturing processes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organization and communication skills, ability to work effectively with staffmembers at all levels, strong technical writing skills, familiarity with cGMP and FDA regulations.
  • Experience with operator focused reliability programs (ODR, Autonomous Maintenance, TPM) preferred.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA regulations, including experience with investigations and/or developing and recommending process improvements.
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects with minimal guidance and to meet project deadlines.
