Job summary

Perrigo is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our Allegan, MI facility. You will provide technical support for incident investigations, lead root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to improve manufacturing processes.

The role requires knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, cGMP, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive reliability and efficiency, while aligning with Perrigo's continuous improvement objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
  • Experience with cGMP and FDA regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with operator focused reliability programs (ODR/TPM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to identify root causes of incidents and deviations.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate investigations with cross-functional teams and ensure timely resolution.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify improvement opportunities in manufacturing processes.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support ODR activities by defining base equipment conditions, inspection points, and lubrication standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance to eliminate sources of contamination and hard-to-access areas.

Description Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer provides technical support as it relates to incident/deviation investigations for all commercialized products at Perrigo facilities within Michigan.

Scope of the Role
  • Provide technical expertise and support to identify root causes of incidents and deviations
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence of incidents and deviations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate investigations and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of improvement in manufacturing processes
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements to enhance continuousimprovement efforts.
  • Support ODR activities by helping define base equipment conditions, inspection points, and lubrication standards.
  • Partner with operations and maintenance to identify and eliminate sources of contamination and hard to access areas.
  • Provide technical guidance to ensure ODR routines strengthen equipment reliability and align with continuous improvement objectives.
Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
  • Knowledge of principles, concepts and practices in pharmaceutical sciences and manufacturing processes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organization and communication skills, ability to work effectively with staffmembers at all levels, strong technical writing skills, familiarity with cGMP and FDA regulations.
  • Experience with operator focused reliability programs (ODR, Autonomous Maintenance, TPM) preferred.
  • Familiarity with cGMP, FDA regulations, including experience with investigations and/or developing and recommending process improvements.
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), and SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects with minimal guidance and to meet project deadlines.
