Job summary

The Florida Division of Emergency Management in Tallahassee seeks a Continuity Program Manager to oversee the Continuity Program within the Bureau of Response’s Planning Section. You will guide COOP/COG planning across state agencies, design training standards, and provide expert technical guidance on continuity planning while ensuring compliance with Florida Statute 252.365.

Qualifications

• Four years of emergency management, continuity planning, or related experience; education may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee COOP and COG programs across state agencies and partners.
• Review COOP/COG plans for readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Design and deliver COOP/COG training programs and materials.
• Develop training standards and best practices for continuity planning.
• Provide expert guidance to local/state/private entities on continuity planning.
• Lead development and maintenance of FDEM COOP plans and procedures.
• Coordinate plan updates to align with current best practices.
• Monitor proposed legislation affecting COOP/COG programs and prepare impact assessments.
• Support Planning Section during SEOC activations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Bureau or Executive Leadership.
