Job summary

Department of State's Office of Emergency Management seeks an experienced professional to develop and evaluate emergency management policies, plans, and capabilities. You will advise on mitigation, preparedness, and response activities and support domestic notification and accountability programs across the continental U.S.

You will design trainings and exercises for Duty Officers and elevated users, and assist with outreach, planning, and crisis coordination while maintaining readiness and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or five years of work experience in emergency management or related field.
• Knowledge of emergency notification systems for time-sensitive dissemination.
• Knowledge of federal emergency management directives, regulations, and standards.
• Experience providing technical assistance for emergency-related programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for leadership briefings.
• Valid U.S. state driver's license throughout employment.
• Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or Associate Emergency Manager (AEM).
• Completion of FEMA NDU courses in emergency management, continuity, planning, and IC.
• Top-Secret clearance with SCI access eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, or evaluate emergency management policies, plans, procedures, and capabilities.
• Provide technical advice on mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities.
• Oversee domestic emergency notification and personnel accountability programs.
• Leverage notification systems to provide rapid alerts to customers and stakeholders.
• Design and deliver trainings, webinars, and exercises for OEM staff and end users.
