Job summary

Harmon, Inc. is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern for the summer to support lean manufacturing initiatives and gain hands-on manufacturing experience.

You will work under the Continuous Improvement Manager to help teams improve efficiency, quality, safety, and waste reduction, while learning real-world process improvement methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data, map processes, and communicate results through reports and visuals,

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field.
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred; cumulative GPA 3.0+ preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in manufacturing operations and process improvement.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze operational data and assist with opportunities to improve inventory control, product quality, throughput, material flow, and productivity.
  • Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of improvement projects.
  • Create reports, presentations, and visual tools to communicate progress and results.

About Harmon

Harmon is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced leaders, gain hands-on manufacturing experience, and participate in projects that drive operational excellence across our business.

Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will support manufacturing teams in fostering a culture of Lean thinking and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved quality, enhanced safety, and waste reduction while gaining valuable real-world experience in process improvement methodologies.

What You'll Do
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Or a related field of study

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
