Job summary

Harmon, Inc. is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join our manufacturing team for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in Lean thinking and process improvement across operations.

Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will support teams, analyze data, map processes, and help drive improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, safety and waste reduction while learning from experienced leaders.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related field.
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze operational data and identify opportunities to improve inventory control, quality, throughput, material flow, productivity, ergonomics and workplace safety.
  • Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
  • Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of improvement projects.
  • Create reports, presentations, and visual tools to communicate project progress and results.
  • Work alongside team members to drive positive operational change and continuous improvement efforts.

About Harmon

Harmon is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced leaders, gain hands-on manufacturing experience, and participate in projects that drive operational excellence across our business.

Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will support manufacturing teams in fostering a culture of Lean thinking and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved quality, enhanced safety, and waste reduction while gaining valuable real-world experience in process improvement methodologies.

What You'll Do

As a Continuous Improvement Intern, you will:

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
