Job summary

Harmon is seeking a motivated Continuous Improvement Intern to join our team for the summer. You will support Lean initiatives, work with cross-functional teams, and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing.

Under the guidance of the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will gain hands-on experience in process mapping, data analysis, and project tracking while contributing to real-world improvements and measurable results.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Junior or Senior standing preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze operational data to identify opportunities to improve: inventory control, product quality, throughput, material flow, productivity, ergonomics and workplace safety.
  • Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
  • Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of improvement projects.
  • Create reports, presentations, and visual tools to communicate project progress and results.
  • Work alongside team members to drive positive operational change and continuous improvement efforts.

What You'll Do
As a Continuous Improvement Intern, You Will
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to identify and implement process improvements.
