Qualifications

• Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Residency in hospital pharmacy strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated communication skills for disseminating drug information.
• Solid understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy and their clinical use.
• Ability to teach and supervise students and trainees within pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates dispensing of unit dose, IV admixtures, investigational and research drugs to meet patient care needs.
• Identifies and monitors the pharmaceutical needs of patients.
• Reviews patient charts and medication records to ensure accurate therapy.
• Verifies medication orders for completeness and dosing accuracy.
• Provides supervision of supportive personnel and participates in staff training.
