Qualifications

• Must hold a degree from an accredited college of pharmacy; residency in hospital pharmacy strongly preferred.
• Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills for disseminating drug information to health care staff.
• Thorough understanding of disease pathophysiology and pharmacotherapy and ability to monitor therapy.
• Experience teaching pharmacy students and staff; capable of supervising trainees.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate dispensing of unit dose, IV admixtures, and investigational drugs to meet patient care needs.
• Identify and monitor pharmaceutical needs of patients and review medication records.
• Verify medication orders for completeness, dosage, route, and duration.
• Provide supervision of supportive personnel during shifts.
• Participate in education and training of students, residents, and staff.
• Provide drug information to patients and healthcare professionals.
• Conduct monthly nursing unit reviews as assigned.
• Assist in performance evaluation of area staff.
• Continuously evaluate patients' therapeutic responses and provide pharmacokinetic dosing as needed.
