Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) in Toledo, OH is seeking a part-time Ancillary Services Treatment Advocate to support youths and families. This contingent role involves transportation, one-on-one advocacy, and collaboration with community partners, with afternoons Monday–Friday and up to 19 hours per week.

You will help develop youth treatment/service plans, engage youth to build trust, assist in crisis situations, document conversations for billing, and identify local resources.

Qualifications

• Associate/Bachelor’s degree or in a program preferred; GED/HS diploma required.
• Willingness to travel daily and meet clients on flexible/non-traditional hours.
• Ability to use basic computer applications and document interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions while transporting clients to and from appointments.
• Participate in developing youth treatment/service plans as needed.
• Engage youth to build trusting, supportive relationships and help achieve goals.
• Provide PSR and/or TBS services (training provided).
• Document conversations and outcomes for billing; identify community resources.
• Assist in family reunification efforts and in crisis situations (daytime to weekends).

Compensation: $20 per hour

This is a Contingent position, non-benefits eligible, up to 19 hours per week, afternoons, Monday-Friday

Ancillary Services Treatment Advocates with National Youth Advocate Program work closely with adolescents, youth, and children as well as families and community partners, to provide one‑on‑one advocacy and support while transporting them to and from a destination.

Working at NYAP

• Mileage Reimbursement at $.54 cents per mile.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions, as needed, with client(s)while being transported to and from various appointments and visits throughout the community
• Participate in the development of the youth treatment/service plans as needed
• Interact with the youth to develop a trusting, supportive relationship while assisting in achieving identified goals.
• Provide PSR and/or TBS Services (Training Provided).
• Ability to engage clients; document conversations and outcomes and submit paperwork for billing.
• Identify outside resources and services in the community for youth development and goal attainment.
• Assist in family reunification efforts with the youths’ primary family or other permanent living arrangements.
• Assist in Crisis Situations (daytime, afternoon, evenings, overnights, and weekends).

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelor’s Program preferred; GED or HS Diploma required.
• Experience in child welfare; preferred.
• Daily travel required with the willingness to meet clients on a flexible schedule or during non‑traditional hours if needed; Availability for after school hours and weekends.
• 18 years of age or older
• Working, reliable telephone.
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

Driving And Vehicle Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal transportation
• Good driving record
• Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
