Central Garden & Pet seeks a Content Writer Intern to join our Content Team in Neptune City, NJ. You will craft copy for websites, packaging, emails, and social media, adapting tone for each brand and audience, and collaborating with the Associate Director, Content Business Strategy.

The role emphasizes SEO/AEO/GEO best practices, competitive research, and AI-assisted drafting, with ownership of multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment at our Neptune City location.

Qualifications

• Published writing samples or a link to an online portfolio is required.
• 2-3 years of experience writing content in-house or at an agency.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field.
• Proven writer and proofreader with strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability to adapt tone based on medium and audience.
• Can prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with e-commerce product content and SEO/AEO/GEO best practices preferred.
• Experience with keyword research tools such as SEM Rush is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Write original and engaging copy for websites, e-commerce, packaging, newsletters, social media, sell sheets, press releases, and more.
• Adhere to style guidelines to create content in each brand's voice, tone, and format.
• Effectively manage multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
• Regularly contribute fresh content concepts/ideas.
• Conduct competitive research to enhance brands' market presence.
• Write and optimize content for traditional SEO and emerging AEO/GEO practices.
• Integrate AI tools into drafting and editing workflow while maintaining editorial judgment.
• Stay curious about new AI tools and techniques and share learnings with the team.
• Conduct keyword research for SEO on search results and e-commerce platforms.
