Seaman Corporation in Wooster, Ohio is seeking a Content Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The role focuses on researching, writing, and editing internal and external communications that inform and engage associates and stakeholders.

You will interview colleagues, translate complex information into clear messages, capture basic photography, and support digital publishing across intranet, website, and social channels. A journalist’s mindset and collaborative approach are essential.

Competenze

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
  • Experience researching, writing, and editing content for multiple audiences and channels.
  • Strong interviewing and content development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience capturing and editing basic photography and visual content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across levels of the organization.
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Discretion and confidentiality handling sensitive information.

Seaman Corporation is seeking a Content Specialist to join our Human Resources team! This position will report to the Corporate Communications Manager in Wooster, Ohio.

Position Summary

The Content Specialist develops content that informs, engages, and connects Seaman Corporation associates to the business. This role is responsible for researching, developing, and creating written and visual content that supports business priorities, associate accomplishments, and community engagement. Responsibilities include identifying content opportunities, conducting interviews, gathering information, and producing communications for internal and external audiences. The Content Specialist also supports digital publishing, content distribution, and communication channel management as needed. The ideal candidate possesses a journalist’s mindset, actively seeks out meaningful content opportunities, asks thoughtful questions, and creates communications that strengthen understanding, engagement, and connection across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify, research, and develop, content opportunities that support business priorities, associate engagement, community involvement, and organizational objectives.
  • Conduct interviews with associates, leaders, partners, and other stakeholders to gather information and insights for corporate communication initiatives.
  • Research, write, and edit articles, announcements, features, executive communications, presentations, and other content for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to translate complex information into clear, accurate, and engaging communications.
  • Capture photography and support video planning, production, and editing activities that enhance communication efforts and strengthen audience engagement.
  • Maintain editorial standards by ensuring content is accurate, well-organized, visually appealing, and aligned with corporate messaging and style guidelines.
  • Support communication campaigns by developing content that can be adapted across multiple channels, including the company intranet, website, social media, presentations, and print materials.
  • Assist with digital publishing, content distribution, and communication channel management activities, providing backup support for communication platforms and channels as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the organization to identify meaningful content opportunities and ensure balanced representation across locations, functions, and business initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience corporate communications, journalism, public relations, marketing communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience researching, writing, and editing content for a variety of audiences and communication channels.
  • Strong interviewing and content development skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Experience capturing and editing basic photography and visual content for communication purposes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with associates and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting internal communications and external communications within a manufacturing, industrial, or multi‑site organization.
  • Experience writing feature articles, associate profiles, leadership communications, organizational announcements, or other long‑form communications.
  • Knowledge of AP style or other professional writing and editing standards.
  • Understanding of brand management principles and corporate identity standards.
  • Working knowledge of graphic design and visual content creation tools, such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Experience using intranet platforms, content management systems, digital publishing tools, and content planning processes, including editorial calendars and content pipelines.
