Job summary

City of Omaha is seeking a digital communications professional to generate content and execute day-to-day social media assignments for the Mayor's Office. You will create content across platforms, provide real-time updates, and support a broad social media strategy for the Omaha metro area.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three years of professional communications experience. Spanish is a plus, with standard benefits and a forty-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, public relations, communications, journalism or related field.
• Three (3) years of related professional experience in mass communications, journalism, marketing or digital media.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Create content for Mayor's Office website and social media across platforms.
• Manage social media programs, provide real-time updates and engage with audiences.
• Develop talking points, scripts, press releases and digital content.
• Capture and edit photos and videos; support multimedia design.
• Collaborate to highlight public service and community partnerships.
