Job summary

Magic Software Inc. seeks part-time contractors to review ELA assessment items for academic quality, standards alignment, and instructional integrity. Reviewers evaluate drafted items for content accuracy, clarity, rigor, fairness, and grade-level appropriateness.

Training will be provided. Prior assessment development experience is preferred; strong classroom or curriculum-writing experience is also accepted.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of grade-level standards (Common Core or equivalent).

Job description

We are seeking part-time contractors to review ELA assessment items. The Assessment Reviewer ensures the academic quality, standards alignment, and instructional integrity of assessment items. Reviewers evaluate drafted items for content accuracy, clarity, rigor, fairness, and grade-level appropriateness. While prior assessment development experience is preferred, strong classroom or curriculum-writing experience is also accepted. Training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Content Review & Quality Assurance

Review ELA items for:

• Subject-Matter Accuracy: Ensuring mathematical correctness or linguistic/literary precision.
• Standards Alignment: (e.g., CCSS or state standards).
• Grade-Level Appropriateness: Ensuring readability and complexity match the target level.
• Clarity: Evaluating language and directions for student-facing clarity.
• Validity: Reviewing answer choices and distractors for ELA (plausibility)
• DOK Alignment: Ensuring items meet Depth of Knowledge expectations.

Additional Tasks:

• Identify gaps in reasoning, misleading phrasing, or construct-irrelevant difficulty.
• Provide actionable written feedback for revisions.
