The Content Production Editor is responsible for the quality, production, control, and delivery of training, marketing, business development, and operational content supporting ELIQUENT Life Sciences' training and consulting businesses.
Working closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, marketing professionals, consultants, and external vendors, this role ensures that materials are accurate, professionally presented, brand compliant, and delivered on schedule. The Content Production Editor oversees content production processes, maintains editorial and document control standards, and supports the successful delivery of customer-facing and internal business initiatives.
This is primarily an individual contributor role with substantial cross-functional leadership responsibilities requiring strong editorial judgment, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities
Content Development and Editorial Management
- Edit, review, and support development of training materials, assessments, marketing collateral, proposals, consulting deliverables, thought leadership content, and other business communications
- Ensure consistency of branding, formatting, editorial standards, and quality across all materials
- Partner with subject matter experts and business leaders to improve clarity, usability, and effectiveness of content
- Maintain document control practices and content governance standards
Learning Content Production and Delivery
- Coordinate production and delivery of instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, customized, and licensed training programs
- Prepare, assemble, and manage participant materials, instructor resources, electronic course assets, e-books, assessments, print files (as needed), and supporting documentation required for public, private, customized, and licensed training programs
- Administer online assessment processes and support examination-related activities associated with training delivery
- Support content customization, branding, packaging, and distribution activities for clients and partners
- Ensure that course materials, delivery resources, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, properly maintained, and available on schedule
- Manage the production lifecycle for training materials, including revisions, customization, packaging, distribution readiness, and version control
Business Development and Marketing Support
- Develop, maintain, and update proposal content, templates, and supporting business development materials
- Support creation and review of strategic customer proposals and custom client solutions
- Develop and maintain marketing, business development, and customer-facing content supporting the training division, including catalogs, website content, thought leadership materials, and promotional communications
- Provide responsive support for customer-facing content requests across business functions
Vendor, Contractor, and Resource Management
- Manage relationships with print vendors, freelance editors, freelance designers, and other external resources
- Coordinate production, fulfillment, and distribution activities for training and marketing materials
- Review production costs, invoices, and vendor performance
- Ensure external resources meet established quality, service, and delivery expectations
Document Control and Knowledge Management
- Maintain libraries of standards, templates, controlled documents, and other organizational resources, and purchase standards upon request
- Support retention, retrieval, and management of training, consulting, and business development content
- Establish and maintain processes that improve accessibility, consistency, and governance of organizational knowledge assets
Leadership and Process Improvement
- Establish and maintain standards for content quality, production, and document management
- Lead initiatives that improve the efficiency, consistency, scalability, and effectiveness of content development and production workflows
- Evaluate emerging technologies – including AI-enabled tools – that support content creation, review, management, and delivery
- Monitor workload, resource utilization, and production priorities to support effective capacity planning and project execution
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and associated budgets supporting creative services operations
- Serve as a subject matter resource and advisor regarding editorial practices, content production, and document governance

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technical Editing/Writing, or a related field
- Five or more years of experience in publishing (e.g., as a Production Editor), content production, and/or technical editing or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in editing, and producing textbooks or other educational content
- Proven project management experience involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and concurrent deadlines
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat for document production, publishing, and management
- Experience supporting highly regulated industries preferred
- Experience managing external vendors, freelancers, or contractors
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in professional training, education, consulting, or knowledge-based organizations
- Experience within life sciences, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related regulated industries
- Experience with assessment platforms/online testing websites, content delivery systems, or related learning technologies
- Experience editing and/or producing college- or postgraduate-level textbooks
- Working knowledge of basic graphic and text design, document publishing, and content production tools
- Experience with document control, content governance, content management systems, and knowledge management practices
Travel
Occasional domestic travel may be required
