Job summary

What Do You Meme? is hiring a Content Creator who lives on TikTok-first content, shoots and edits high-volume content, and cares whether it works, not just if it posted.

You will write hooks, create captions with witty wordplay, and be comfortable on camera as a brand ambassador. You’ll organize shoots, analyze performance data, and push creative boundaries to drive engagement.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of content creation experience for TikTok/IG/YT Shorts
• Portfolio and work samples to show for it
• Proficient in CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Canva; Adobe suite a plus

Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit platform-native content across formats: short-form video, memes, reactive posts, in-office moments, event and shoot footage, product content
• Participate in bi-weekly content shoots, delivering 100+ pieces of content per month
• Write hooks, overlays, and captions with wit and wordplay; on-screen text is a creative act
• Show up on camera with confidence and charisma; be a face of the brand when needed
• Keep content scheduling and review process on time, every time
• Review social performance data to refine future content
• Test new formats and track outperformers
• Adapt content based on data insights

What Do You Meme? was born out of internet culture and this role exists because we plan to stay there. We need a Content Creator who is chronically online, shoots and edits a high volume of TikTok-first content, and cares whether it actually works. Not just whether it got posted.

About You

Working for a company born out of social media culture is your dream job, not just a fun fact. You are a sharp wordsmith with a natural wit and a talent for wordplay. You know that on-screen text, sound, and visuals are equally important and you treat them that way. You are as comfortable in front of the camera as behind it, and you have the charisma to convince your very busy coworkers to film a quick TikTok with you. You have a strong sense of which trends are right for the brand and which ones would make it look like it is trying too hard. You will say so either way.

Responsibilities

Content Creation & Production

• Shoot and edit platform-native content across formats: short-form video, memes, reactive posts, in-office moments, event and shoot footage, product content, and whatever the internet invents next
• Participate in and help organize bi-weekly content shoots, delivering 100+ pieces of content per month
• Write hooks, overlays, and captions with genuine wit and wordplay. On-screen text is a creative act, not a caption box to fill
• Show up on camera with confidence and charisma, including as a face of the brand when needed
• Stay organized enough to film, submit, and get content through review, approval, and posting on time, every time

Trends and Ideation

• Stay deeply plugged in to what is happening on social and across the broader cultural conversation
• Bring specific trends, sounds, and formats to brainstorms before they peak, with a clear take on whether they are right for the brand
• Understand that just because a trend exists does not mean it is ours to use. Have the judgment to know the difference and the confidence to push back when it is not a fit

Strategy, Performance & Optimization

• Review and interpret social performance data to refine future content
• Test new formats regularly and track what outperforms baseline engagement
• Adapt content based on what the data is telling you, not just what feels right
• Ensure content is optimized per platform: right format, right length, right aspect ratio
• Maintain strong alignment with platform strategy while keeping content feeling alive, not templated

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Work with Brand and Sales to ensure content supports launches and key selling periods
• Respond to ad hoc requests from influencer, affiliate, and brand teams without losing momentum on the core calendar
• Take feedback well and quickly. A note on the work is not a note on you
• Help with organic and paid content as well as agency‑led requests
• Social Media Savvy: Deep understanding of platforms, algorithms, and content strategies that drive engagement and revenue
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Creative Expertise: Strong creative instincts with the ability to translate ideas into compelling, original content
• Copywriting & Voice: Natural wit and wordplay. Hooks, overlays, and captions are a creative act, not an afterthought
• Trend Judgment: Knows which trends fit the brand and which ones do not, and will say so
• Organized and Self‑Sufficient: Able to manage workflows independently

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in content creation for TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts and a portfolio and work samples to show for it
• Ability to concept, shoot, and edit independently from start to finish across all content types
• Proficient in CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Canva. Bonus if you’re well‑versed in the Adobe suite
• You have a track record of growing audiences and producing high‑performing short‑form content
• You’re collaborative, flexible, and take feedback well in a creative team setting

The Legal bits

The salary range for this role is $60,000.00- $75,000.00 annually, plus eligible for an annual target bonus prorated from the start date. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue‑based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
