Job summary

Plants Are History in Rio Vista, CA is seeking a creative Content Creator and Social Media Scheduler for a defined-scope monthly contractor role.

You will visit on-site 2–3 hours monthly to capture photo and video, then edit, repurpose, and schedule content across Instagram and Facebook. Portfolio-focused, with a collaborative spirit and a strong eye for brand storytelling.

Content Creator & Social Media Scheduler

Plants Are History | Rio Vista, CA

We're looking for a creative, visually driven content creator to become a recurring creative partner for our growing botanical design brand.

This is a defined-scope monthly contractor position focused on content creation, editing, and scheduling - not full social media management.

What You'll Do

Once a month, you'll come on-site for approximately 2-3 hours to capture photo and video content. You'll then edit, repurpose, and schedule that content throughout the month.

Monthly Deliverables

• 1 carousel, graphic, or photo post per week - approximately 4-5/month
• Approximately 20-22 total pieces of content/month
• Captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action
• Monthly content calendar
• Schedule approved content to Instagram & Facebook

The goal is to batch-create content during the monthly shoot and strategically repurpose it throughout the month. Our team will also create additional photo/video content when applicable that can be incorporated into the content calendar.

We are not looking for someone to simply create generic or trend-driven social media content.

Everything needs to follow the brand.

Photography, video, editing, music, graphics, captions, messaging, tone, and overall aesthetic should feel cohesive and intentional.

We want someone who can understand our brand and think:

"How do I tell this brand's story through content?"

We'll provide brand direction and creative input, and we want someone who will bring their own ideas to the table as well.

We want this to be a collaborative relationship, not a "work independently and send us content once a month" arrangement.

Your focus is

Approximately $500/month

We're particularly interested in freelance/independent creators, emerging content creators, photographers/videographers, or someone building their portfolio who is looking for a consistent, ongoing client relationship.

Professional agency experience is not required. Your creative ability and portfolio matter more than years of experience.

Experience with plants, interiors, architecture, design, hospitality, luxury brands, retail, or other visually driven industries is a plus.

We're looking for someone who can create content that doesn't just look good - it feels unmistakably like our brand.
