Job description

Content Operations Specialist | Sitecore, Enterprise CMS & Web Content Publishing

Pay: Up to $60/hr W2

Duration: 5-Month Contract - Possibility for Extension/Conversion

Schedule: Remote or Hybrid | 40 Hours/Week | 9:00 AM–5:30 PM CT

Location: Remote within the U.S. | Chicago-area hybrid candidates preferred

If you know your way around Sitecore and are used to being the person who actually gets web content built, updated, QA'd, and published, not just the person developing the content strategy, this is the kind of role where that experience matters.

Swoon is partnering with a major global aviation client on a large-scale renovation of its employee intranet. Over the next several months, the team is working through a significant volume of existing content to improve accuracy, searchability, accessibility, and the overall employee experience.

This role sits directly in the execution layer of that work.

What you'll get to work on:
  • Build, edit, configure, and publish pages directly within Sitecore using existing and custom components.
  • Take approved designs, copy decks, and Content Strategist requirements and translate them into properly built web pages.
  • Make copy, layout, formatting, component, section, asset, and other content updates across an established employee intranet.
  • Manage content through the publishing lifecycle, including content entry, versioning, scheduling, personalization, deployment, archiving, and approval workflows.
  • Troubleshoot broken links, missing assets, formatting issues, CMS errors, and other problems that could prevent content from displaying or publishing correctly.
  • Format and validate content for readability, usability, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Work closely with Content Strategy, UX, QA, Project Management, and other stakeholders while managing multiple pages and deadlines at once.
  • Maintain clear status updates as content moves through review, approval, and publication.
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
  • 3+ years of hands-on Sitecore content-building experience. This is the biggest priority for the team. They need someone who has actually worked inside Sitecore building, editing, formatting, and publishing content.
  • Experience working within a large-scale enterprise CMS and understanding the full content publishing workflow from page build through QA and deployment.
  • Experience formatting digital content with accessibility, usability, readability, and consistency in mind.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work within established templates, publishing standards, governance, and approval processes.
  • The ability to manage a fairly high volume of content updates without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly surface issues, provide status updates, and collaborate across content and technical teams.
  • Experience supporting an employee intranet, enterprise portal, knowledge base, or other large corporate website would be particularly relevant. Additional experience with WCAG 2.2 AA, personalization, metadata, taxonomy, tagging, redirects, content archiving, or deeper front-end troubleshooting is also helpful.

If you've spent the last several years working hands-on in Sitecore and are comfortable owning the execution side of enterprise web publishing, we urge you to apply.
