Job summary

Waste Pro in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to perform repairs on equipment parts, vehicles, and containers. The role involves welding steel and aluminum components on trucks, fabricating parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Requirements include at least one year of welding experience and a high school diploma or GED. Waste industry experience is preferred; CDL is not required. You will also complete safety procedures and paperwork as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• A minimum of one year welding experience.
• Equivalent of high school diploma or GED certification.
• Waste industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on front, rear load, recycle and roll-off trucks and other assets when necessary.
• Cuts/welds repairs to vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades, rails, fabrication.
• Welds steel and aluminum components using MIG gun and arc welding equipment.
• Bends steel components using a break and shear.
• Cuts steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricates steel components on trucks and containers.
• Maintains shop cleanliness by sweeping welding debris, cleaning the welding area and disposing of trash to ensure a clean safe work environment.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
