Job summary

Matson is seeking an experienced welder to perform container shop maintenance, repair, welding, and fabrication. You will inspect containers and flatracks, diagnose issues, and perform preventative maintenance in a safety‑mocused environment.

You must hold a welder certification and have 5–10 years of welding plus 3–5 years mechanical experience. TWIC is required, with ability to work various shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Cutting, welding, fabrication, and repair on containers and flatracks.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair container/flatrack damage using approved procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and evaluate container shop equipment.
• Assist CY/CFS operations during loading/unloading as needed.
• Test and inspect completed work for proper performance and safety compliance.
