Job summary

Clean Harbors in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Container Mechanic to sand, prep, inspect, fabricate, cut, weld, patch tarps or replace tarps on containers at company and customer sites including refineries. You will log time and materials into an electronic repair order system; welding gear and service truck are provided. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Welding (MIG & Stick) in fabrication/repair shop.
• Flat welding with steel experience preferred.
• Structural Welding test completed successfully.
• Welding certification is an asset.
• Ability to wear a respirator; must be clean shaven.
• Valid driver's license and clean 3-year driving record.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety; follow safe work practices at all times.
• Perform compliance and safety inspections; address deficiencies.
• Weld, cut, grind, repair metal in container repairs.
• Maintain shop housekeeping and equipment; manage tools.
• Prepare surfaces prior to painting; apply coatings using HVLP or similar.
• Fabricate, cut, and weld roll-off containers.
• Produce quality work that meets standards.
• Log time and materials into electronic repair system.
• Keep the company truck clean and hazard-free.
• Perform other welding duties as assigned by management.
