June Perciballi & Co CPAs PC in Smithtown, NY is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a collaborative CPA firm. The role focuses on preparing financial statements, GL entries, and reconciliations while assisting with tax filings for individuals and businesses.

• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm setting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel; GAAP knowledge.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent communication and client-facing demeanor.

• Prepare and review financial statements, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations
• Assist with tax preparation and filing for individuals, businesses, and other entities
• Communicate with clients to gather financial data and address accounting inquiries
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
• Assist senior CPAs and management with special projects and financial analysis
• Preparation of required tax filings including:
  • Quarterly/annual payroll returns
  • Monthly/quarterly/annual sales tax returns
  • Annual W2 and 1099 filings

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm setting
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and a client-focused, professional demeanor
