This role requires strong proactive media skills, a growing understanding of the consumer tech media landscape (including new media), and a strong drive for media pitching. Clear writing and communication skills are also key - this role includes contributing to tactical plans for product news moments such as announcements of new features and software updates, along with crafting highly targeted, proactive pitches. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who embrace modern PR workflows, utilizing the latest AI tools to optimize media research, drafting, and outreach. Positions are available in California, Texas, Maryland, Virginia, Michigan, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid set-up with work-from-home and work-from-office flexibility. We’re seeking someone who is passionate about media and staying up-to-date with the latest news. Someone who has an innate curiosity and the desire to find out "why?" Our team is growing at an amazing rate, and this is an opportunity to produce work for top clients in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment that values team above all. We do great work – and hire only great people, too. Methods+Mastery is actively committed to increasing our team’s diversity, aggressively eliminating systemic barriers to equity, and fostering a culture where different backgrounds and perspectives are respected and celebrated. We firmly believe a team of many diverse perspectives not only makes M+M a better place to work, it is also critically important for producing creative and thoughtful work that represents the world we live in. To that end, we strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and neurodivergent people.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with account team to secure proactive and announcement-led news coverage for the client.
  • Support media pitching efforts, consistently bringing fresh, compelling story angles and pitch ideas to the team. This includes drafting pitches and compiling media lists.
  • Support the client with your developing understanding of the consumer tech media landscape.
  • Smartly and effectively leverage generative AI and PR technology tools to streamline workflows, enhance media research, and assist in drafting compelling communications and pitch materials.
Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in PR for consumer brands.
  • A love for media and the consumer tech industry; growing relationships with consumer tech reporters is preferred.
  • Must possess highly effective media relations skills, with an emphasis on proactive pitching and securing top-tier placements.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with modern AI tools (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, AI-powered media databases) and an eagerness to apply them to PR workflows for increased efficiency.
  • A go-getter mindset & attitude - not afraid to pitch, secure new media contacts, and build relationships.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas and information clearly.
  • Collaborative attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive and excel in a challenging fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across different teams throughout the agency.
Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working across a range of consumer tech products.
  • Experience supporting product reviews programs.
  • Experience with consumer subscription services.
  • Experience with end-to- end earned and/or paid creator campaigns.
