The Organization

North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.

Receives supervision from the Consumer Services Director.

The Position And Job Summary

  • General oversight of the Early Start Department in the San Fernando Valley, Antelope Valley, and Santa Clarita Valley. Provides back-up support to and acts in the absence of the Consumer Services Director. Responsible for ensuring regulatory and contractual obligations are met for Early Start consumer services. Ensures the development and maintenance of community relations and fosters partnerships, inclusive of active participation on workgroups, committees, and taskforces.
  • Provides leadership in accordance with the Center's mission and core values.
  • Assigns, reviews, and approves work of staff members.
  • Assist in hiring, training, directing and evaluating the operations of the Early Start Department at the direction of the Consumer Services Director.
  • Participates in the Center’s management team. May serve as staff support for Board committees.
  • Develops and oversees detailed and technologically advanced tracking systems for consumer activity as well as coordination of state audits, community outreach, and inter-agency collaboration.
  • Provides general supervision and consultation to Consumer Services-Early Start Supervisors and department specialists.
  • Purchase of Service review and approval.
  • Monitors case management compliance with applicable Performance Standards and California Bargaining Agreement.
  • Provides/delegates consultation to case management staff regarding complex service needs/issues.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned.


Employment Standards

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working with individuals who have developmental/intellectual disabilities, preferably within the regional center system.
  • Proven record of excellent organizational, communication and time management abilities.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience at a supervisor level position and managing multiple position types.

  • Prior experience with working with consumers with developmental disabilities
  • Prior Regional Center (or related agency) experience preferred; management and supervisory principles and practices.
  • Prior experience with Early Start consumers preferred
  • Ability to provide staff development and leadership
  • Ability to analyze complex material and provide clear oral and/or written communication to staff and senior management
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Ability to act timely and accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and foster teamwork
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Possesses strong negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Experience with development and maintenance of complex database preparation and data analytics

Essential Requirements

Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation, or acceptable substitute, required. Regular travel will be required to all branch offices.

  • Most positions are offered a hybrid – remote option

Compensation

This position is exempt. Regular salary: $111,093.27 - $149,975.91 annually.

Base Pay Rate / Salary Range Information

The actual amount offered within the posted salary/pay rate range will depend on a variety of factors, including degree obtained/education, experience, skills and abilities, and other relevant job-related factors. The lower end of salary range applies to candidates who meet minimum qualifications or have limited years of relevant experience; the higher end of range will apply to seasoned candidates with considerable years of direct relevant experience.
