Job summary

The Office of the New York State Attorney General (OAG) seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Consumer Frauds and Protection Bureau in New York City. The role focuses on enforcing consumer protection laws and pursuing civil actions to stop deceptive, unfair, and abusive trade practices.

Applicants should have at least five years of civil litigation experience, strong writing and analytical abilities, and NY bar admission.

Qualifications

• At least five years of civil litigation experience; CFP may consider fewer years for well-qualified applicants.
• Excellent writing, analytical and organizational skills are required.
• New York State Bar admission is required.
• Fluency in languages other than English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Litigate consumer protection cases and pursue civil prosecutions in state and federal courts.
• Investigate and enforce consumer protection laws; handle complex investigations.
• Provide legal advice and contribute to enforcement strategies in CFP's portfolio.
• Support the Office's commitment to protecting vulnerable New Yorkers from deceptive practices.
