State of New York seeks attorneys with a strong civil litigation background for the Office of the Attorney General. The role emphasizes experience in consumer protection and affirmative litigation across federal and state courts, with emphasis on writing, analysis, and organization.
Applicants must reside in New York and be admitted to practice law in New York. A two-year commitment is required upon hire. Fluency in other languages is a plus but not required.
Applicants should possess at least five (5) years of civil litigation experience. However, CFP will consider well-qualified applicants with fewer years of experience. Candidates who have experience in consumer protection and/or affirmative litigation in federal and state courts are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in consumer issues in the areas of financial services, student lending, and/or mortgage servicing is a plus. Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Fluency in other languages in addition to English is a plus, but not required.
Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York state and be admitted to practice law in New York state. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that OAG attorneys be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.
