Job summary

Georgia United Credit Union is seeking a Loan Processor to support the consumer lending team in Duluth, GA. You will help process, document, and fund consumer loans, ensuring accuracy and timely closings while delivering excellent member service.

The role involves reviewing documents for underwriting compliance, suggesting process improvements, and training new team members. This position emphasizes cooperation with branches and adherence to credit union policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serves internal and external members and the consumer lending team to ensure loans are closed accurately and timely while always providing the best possible experience.
  • Supports the consumer lending department and branches with the processing, document preparation, and funding of consumer loans.
  • Processes consumer loan requests including vehicle, recreational vehicle, personal loans, and credit cards.
  • Completes loan processing duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Examines documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with existing underwriting stipulations and credit union policies and procedures.
  • M akes recommendations to system upgrades, policies, standards, or procedures to improve the processes and improve the member/employee experience.
  • Performs coding and posting functions and prepares all necessary documents for closing/funding of consumer loans.
  • Resolves (or refers) requests and problems promptly and courteously.
  • Maintains and conveys the Credit Union’s professional reputation.
  • Completes special projects as assigned. Supports the team, the credit union, and members in getting things done.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Will help train any new team members to the Loan Processor Team.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
  • Promotes and establishes strong, positive and productive working relationships within the organization through commitment to the company’s purpose, mission and core values.

Job description

Georgia United Credit Union regularly evaluates market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to offer the best, competitive compensation package for our positions. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, internal alignment and other job-related factors.

Starting salary $23.15 per hour depending on experience and qualification.

  • Serves internal and external members and the consumer lending team to ensure loans are closed accurately and timely while always providing the best possible experience.
