Job summary

Frontier Farm Credit in Emporia, KS seeks a Consumer Lending Officer to originate and manage consumer loans, including purchases, refinances, and construction loans. You will market lending products, build strong local relationships, and assess financial positions to present optimal options.

You will lead customer relationships and coordinate with the team to serve loan, lease, crop insurance, and related needs, while traveling about 50% of the time to cover the territory.

Qualifications

• Preferred 4-year Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance or Economics.
• 2+ years of experience in Real Estate, Business, or Finance.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Consumer Lending Officer specializing in purchase, refinance, construction loans and all consumer loans for our organization. Responsible for marketing the consumer lending product and building strong working relationships with business contacts. Provide knowledge of the consumer marketplace, available products and finance to fully understand the applicant(s) current and future needs and financial position to present the options that best meet their needs. You will be responsible for originating credit to his/her customers by assessing the request and obtaining business and financial information needed to determine the viability and profitability of the deal. You will be asked to lead the customer relationship and often coordinate with others to serve the customer’s loan, lease, crop insurance, and servicing needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

SALES and RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:

• Engagement in marketing and promotional activities throughout the assigned territory to support sales goals; maintain professional relationships with appropriate influencer groups, home mortgage professionals and organizations.
• Determine and define the appropriate customer interaction and coordinate the appropriate support of resources that may directly or indirectly provide service to the applicant(s). Effectively communicate to the applicant(s) and to appropriate team members regarding the request.
• Introduce applicant(s) to teammate(s) who will support the process.
• Actively engage with support team members including daily processing and servicing of credit and participating in training, development and relationship building activities.

DELIVER SOUND CREDIT:

• Gather and document customer financial information and application details, in compliance with consumer lending requirements and in coordination with appropriate team members.
• Assist customers in preparing an accurate list of assets and liabilities to establish current balance sheets as needed.
• Coach and counsel customers to meet future financial goals.

SERVICE PORTFOLIO: Provide the following on-going service and support:

• Provide oversight and monitoring of construction projects; coach and counsel when cost overruns apply.
• Review property inspections according to procedures.

Travel Time

• Percentage of time required to travel during the day - 50%
• Percentage of time required to travel overnight - 15%

Education Requirements

• Preferred, 4 Year / Bachelor's degree, Real Estate, Business, Finance or Economics

Years of Experience

• 2+ years of experience, Real Estate, Business, or Finance
