Job summary

CAP Services Inc. in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, is seeking a full-time Outreach and Lending Specialist. You will recruit and identify program participants, build relationships with community organizations, and coordinate underwriting for Consumer Lending programs.

You will collect participant data, assist with reports, and ensure funding contract expectations are met. Travel up to 500 miles monthly and join a collaborative team in a supportive nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in housing counseling or lending.
• Ability to travel up to 500 miles per month with insured vehicle.
• Experience in housing counseling, financial literacy, or residential mortgage lending preferred.
• Strong communication and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage in outreach activities to recruit and identify potential program participants, building relationships with community organizations (25%+).
• Enroll applicants for CAP’s Consumer Lending programs, review applications and coordinate underwriting with supervisor.
• Assist with loan servicing, including collections and loan modifications as needed, and link participants with resources.

Starting Pay:

$21.07 – $23.18 per hour, depending on experience

Status:

Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Duties:

Engage in outreach activities to recruit and identify potential program participants. External contacts involve an ongoing commitment to build and maintain working relationships with other organizations with the community on behalf of CAP Services (more than 25% of time).

Enroll applicants for CAP’s Consumer Lending programs, review client applications and coordinate underwriting activities. Work closely with supervisor on the submission of loan requests and follow up with clients on the outcome. Assist with loan servicing, including collections and loan modifications when necessary. Link participants with other resources as needed, both internally at CAP Services and in the community.

Responsible for collection and documentation of participant demographic information and related program activities (monthly, quarterly, annually). Assists Supervisor with timely, complete and concise reports and data collection on program activities by the agency and funding source.

Be familiar with expectations of funding contracts for the programs. Participate in group meetings with the department to establish and evaluate departmental objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in related field (accounting, finance, business communication);
• Or non-related BA/BS degree and one year experience in housing counseling, financial literacy, accounting, consumer or residential mortgage lending;
• OR Associate Degree in related field and three years experience in housing counseling, financial literacy, accounting, consumer or residential mortgage lending;
• OR high school diploma and five years experience housing counseling, financial literacy, accounting, consumer or residential mortgage lending.
• Must be able to travel independently up to 500 miles per month and have access to an insured vehicle.
