Smith Arnold Partners in Chicago, IL is seeking a seasoned Consumer Investment Banking Managing Director to lead client coverage, originate and execute sell‑side M&A deals within the Consumer sector, and drive growth of the platform across multiple top markets.

The ideal candidate brings deep Consumer subsector expertise, a proven track record of large‑scale transactions, and a strong network of executives, founders, family‑owned businesses, and private equity sponsors.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of Investment Banking experience with a successful track record of originating and closing Consumer M&A transactions.
• Deep niche sector expertise within Consumer subsectors including F&B, Retail, E‑Commerce, Consumer Health, Household/Personal care.
• Strong network of C-suite executives, founders, family-owned businesses, strategic buyers and PE investors.
• Proven ability to originate and close transactions with enterprise values between $100M and $1Billion.

Responsibilities

• Originate, structure, and execute predominantly sell-side M&A transactions in the Consumer space.
• Lead client coverage and expand relationships with founders, CEOs, family-owned businesses, and strategic buyers.
• Deliver high-quality strategic advisory on engagements generating substantial advisory fees.
• Mentor Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts during transaction execution.
• Drive business development initiatives within Consumer verticals and support platform expansion.
