Overview

• The Consumer Financial Services Regulatory Compliance team advises various consumer finance market participants, including depository institutions, mortgage lenders, auto finance companies, specialty lenders, Fintechs, payment processors, and service providers, on a broad range of state and federal regulatory compliance matters.
• The role involves counseling clients on regulatory requirements related to origination and underwriting, licensing, documentation, servicing, privacy, collection and asset recovery, and assisting with responses to state and federal examinations, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement actions.
• Responsibilities include advising on compliance with the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), and analogous state consumer protection laws.
• The position supports clients in the development and review of financial products, programs, disclosures, policies, and procedures, and advises on corporate structuring, business expansion initiatives, and regulatory considerations for new products and technologies.
• Candidates should have familiarity with state and federal consumer financial services laws and related regulatory frameworks governing origination, servicing, collection and asset recovery, and licensing.
• Preferred experience includes advising financial institutions, Fintech companies, specialty lenders, or other regulated financial services providers.
