Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate with three to five years of relevant experience. The position allows work at any office or The Link, the firm's virtual office; licensure in the appropriate state or prompt readiness to obtain it is required.

The ideal candidate will defend financial services clients in state and federal courts, with knowledge of FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA and related statutes, and experience with mortgage servicers/originators in contested foreclosures

Qualifications

• Three to five years of relevant consumer finance litigation experience.
• Active bar license in the corresponding state or ability to obtain one promptly.
• Experience defending financial services in state and federal courts.
• Knowledge of FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA and related consumer protection statutes.
• Experience representing mortgage servicers/originators in foreclosures or title disputes.
• Strong academic credentials and ability to manage multiple matters under pressure.

Husch Blackwell LLP is a national law firm with multiple locations across the United States, dedicated to our clients and the industries they serve.

We have an immediate opening for a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate with three to five years of relevant experience preferred. We will consider candidates for any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link, however, candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio are strongly preferred.

The candidate should have experience defending financial services companies in both state and federal courts, along with a working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes. The ideal candidate will also have experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.

The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Candidates should have an active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible. Candidates applying for a role in our virtual office, The Link, must be licensed in the state in which they reside.

Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $200,000 - $230,000, and in Minnesota and Vermont is $210,000 - $225,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data. Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus.
