Job description

This individual will be empowered to be an ambassador of Retail Rebel. The Cashier / Floor Associate will act as a first and last point of contact for our customers. This position requires the initiative to want to engage and teach our customers how to successfully shop with us daily. Positivity is a must when it comes to representing Retail Rebel in a professional manner while assisting customers locate and purchase their treasures, operate the cash register, maintain bins, recover merchandise, clean the store, and perform other supportive duties as assigned by the Store Manager. We depend on our cashier / floor associates to embrace their responsibilities and deliver quality work, productivity and efforts through training provided. This individual will play a role in building and embracing teamwork while reaching Retail Rebels daily goals.

Compensation :

Starting window of pay : $14.18 - $16.44 and up (based on experience)

You could be the right person for the job, if you :

• Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers
• Help customers understand store shopping policies and procedures
• Are detail oriented and thorough in following counting procedures
• Efficiently can operate a cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag and assist customers with merchandise as necessary
• Ability to stock and merchandise in an organized manner
• Maintain visual displays of merchandise
• Follow company processes; ensure that all merchandise is shoppable, and ensure bins are free of excessive clutter and trash
• Assist in cleaning the store, taking out trash, dusting and mopping store floors, cleaning restroom and stockroom

Requirements

Working Conditions :

• Standing
• Frequent bending, stooping and kneeling at checkout stations, merchandise goods, cleaning
• Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting and moving merchandise up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to but not limited to 50 pounds
• Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level
• Other supportive duties as assigned
• Some evening and weekends required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Understanding of safety policies and practices
• Ability to communicate store processes and pricing to customers (Training provided)
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures
• Basic mathematical skills
