Job summary

Kruger & Schwartz is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our consumer bankruptcy practice in Louisville, KY. The role offers an on-site, full-time position with both entry-level and experienced tracks in Chapter 7/13 matters.

You will work closely with the managing partner, handle client intakes, prepare bankruptcy documents, and appear at creditor meetings under supervision or independently for experienced hires. Competitive compensation with a per-case bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, detail-oriented and highly organized.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and Kentucky Bar admission.
• Experience in consumer bankruptcy matters preferred but entry-level acceptable to learn the practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations and intakes to assess financial profiles.
• Draft bankruptcy petitions, schedules and Chapter 13 plans using Best Case.
• Appear at 341 Meetings of Creditors and hearings; manage docket and filings.
• Support and manage case files from intake through court milestones.
